Center for Faith and Life, Main Hall
Lamajamal combines Middle Eastern, North African, Balkan, and Roma traditions with luscious, dubbed-out production, hip-hop influence, and a rock band's sensibilities. Highly danceable, heavily percussive, with a "knack for sexy, serpentine grooves and a mean, mean oud player" (Chicago Reader), Lamajamal is a band without borders that will infect the audience with its complex, riveting, cross-cultural music.
