The Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass

Thursday, September 22, 2022

7:30 p.m.

Center for Faith and Life, Main Hall

Tickets on sale August 31

A veritable dream team of seven virtuoso brass players, the Rodney Marsalis Philadelphia Big Brass has performed in prominent venues around the world. Since its beginnings on the streets of New Orleans, it has become known for a concert format that breaks the usual barriers between genres, swinging from jazz to Bach and creating a powerful connection with the audience. The group is especially dedicated to encouraging the world’s youth to reach for their dreams, as Rodney was encouraged to as a child.

No one plays beautifully all the time . . . unless you’re my cousin Rodney.” —Wynton Marsalis

Please note: this date was originally scheduled for An Evening with Branford Marsalis. Due to complications from a knee injury, Branford will not be touring this fall, but we are thrilled to present another member of the iconic Marsalis family.
