Be at the CENTER of it ALL!

Top-notch artists, jubilant rhythms, global sounds, and moving, innovative stories.

There is something for the curiosity-seeker and the connoisseur in this wonderful 2014–15 Center Stage Series season! It is a year of stunning, radiant performances that deserve to be at the center of your inspiration.

Center Stage has a distinct gift that here, at the center of Luther’s campus, we’re surrounded by and participating in artistic inspiration, intellectual discovery, and social awakening. And that holds true not only for Luther students, but for all of us! We gather together, experience together, and live life together. And every season, we celebrate the things that bring us together, as well as the things that make us unique.

In April, Center Stage is honored to premiere All Recipes Are Home, a play that springs from stories of food, land, and Decorah-area farming. It is the culmination of a two-year partnership between Working Group Theatre of Iowa City, the Center Stage Series, and Luther’s Center for Sustainable Communities. We invite everyone who calls Iowa home to claim the intersection of our shared story. Don’t miss this signature event of the year!

Artists on this year’s series are offering moving performances that open up classic art and history. The creative hearts of Intergalactic Nemesis, the genius musicians behind Sybarite5, the fresh song of Anonymous 4, and the immigrant spirit of San Jose Taiko bring new energy to their honored art forms. History also creates a new hope that inspires the international musical icons of 20 Years of Freedom and the riveting social drama In the Heat of the Night.

The real movers of our season bring experiences to Center Stage we haven’t seen in quite a while! Enjoy the high-octane tap of Rhythmic Circus: Feet Don’t Fail Me Now! and the beauty of story ballet in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Each subscription, ticket, and Center Stage conversation is not only a chance to experience something inspiring, but is an investment in the art you value. And we value you! We offer each of you and our dedicated sponsors a heartfelt ovation—your support makes it clear that you believe in this series and the impact performing arts have in our whole and rich lives.

Let the spirit of the arts live in you. Be at the center of it all!
